    I am new to CMC osteoarthritis in my thumb and I first noticed it when trying to open the screw top of a pouch of applesauce or baby food. I've been googling like crazy to figure out how to help me open those. Any ideas for tools? You have to pinch pretty hard with one to hold the hard plastic "shoulders" of the pouch (attached to the neck inside the top of the pouch), and use the other hand to unscrew the lid. Sometimes they're especially tight. The lids are a variety of shapes, depending on the product, but not usually perfectly cylindrical.

    That thing is so bad and breaks super easily, it’s very hard to get it on that’s why she doesn’t show it, and you get this because you don’t have the “strength “ right? Well in my personal opinion and experience with it you have to have skinny legs and all the strength to use it, and not even, is a peace of plastic that doesn’t work, I make people with complete health use it and they say that doesn’t work right. The plastic on the handle are so cheap that it would break on you with in days. If you are looking to get this please don’t and if you have it return it, oh and if you have it use it and are happy with it please let me know how, thanks

    How to walk without swaying your hips from one side to the other?

    • @AECorner
      @AECorner 15 дней назад

      @@jailsoninline4530 The green piece of tape indicates the hip abductors, specifically the gluteus medius and minimus muscles in this area. These muscles are responsible for hip abduction, which is this sideways movement. The same muscle group also acts as an abductor when you stand on one leg. It contracts to hold your pelvis level. If this muscle is weak, the pelvis will drop on the unsupported side. This weakness is what we assess with the Trendelenburg sign. In this test, the individual stands on one leg and lifts the other. Ideally, the hips should remain level. However, if the hip on the unsupported side drops, it indicates weakness in the abductor muscles. If the hip doesn't maintain a level position while walking, there wouldn't be enough clearance for the swinging leg. To compensate for this weakness, people tend to lean towards the stronger side, which creates a hitching gait pattern.

      @AECorner Месяц назад

      @@CharlesLasecki, yes, this is a technique that can be used. It usually works best if you have a limited number of steps (1-2), because it can be difficult to get a safe/level adjustment between the front and back legs of the walker depending on the walker height adjustment and step height. Additionally, when backing up the steps, the FRONT legs would be the longer adjustment and the BACK legs would be the shorter adjustment. Hope this helps! AECorner.com

    I took my dear MIL for a trip. We went to the Outer Banks and stayed a couple of nights at a little motel. Very cute place, down by the ocean, etc. The bed was so high that I secured a chair from the room next to the bed. She had to climb up on the chair and turn around to sit on the bed. This would have helped a great deal. After she was ready for bed, she got in bed, and I turned the chair, so it prevented her from rolling off. To be honest, I had trouble getting into that bed. We giggled like little girls that night.

      @@AECorner In my region , my guess is some ( not speaking about all ) doesn't want to tell the patience , the truth or something else going on , that I don't know about . I had a Xray done and tomorrow I'll be going to doctor to see what it might be. If I don't get the answer. My next step will try and get an MRI and take it to my Orthopedic Specialist. All this will take time , because my Orthopedic doctor is booked out for months at least 6 months . Or maybe I can get in earlier. Wait and See .

      Our first recommendation would be to get an evaluation from a local physical therapist. Here is a video we made featuring general exercises: ruclips.net/video/BLTrLOemhkQ/видео.html

    If you have a family member who is capable of understanding your meds and being an advocate that’s also a good idea because I had a situation when I was in the rehab hospital where they wanted to cath me yet Not discontinue my Detrol.
